Delegate, but do not Abandon

There's an old saying in management: that a manager is someone who does things by using other people. It implies that a manager delegates work to his subordinate.

However: delegate does not equal abandon.
You can delegate, but make sure the person is able, well equipped, well motivated to do the requested task.

Remember: it is the manager who's fully responsible for the result.
